These students showcase a sampling of the success that can be achieved after participating in the Multimedia program.
Principal Software Engineer
Tony graduated from Ohio University in 2012, with a degree in Visual Communications. While at OU, he worked on numerous projects that helped build his skills. In 2010, he led a project called Project C – Clicking Creates Change that aspires to “create a multimedia-based project that informs, inspires, and calls its audience to become more involved in their community.” The project was nominated for a 2011 Adobe Design Achievement Award, and was named a finalist. Tony flew to Taiwan to be part of the awards ceremony.
Tony spent 6 months in New York City, working as an intern for an interactive company namedHello Monday. While there, he worked on a project for Google to commemorate the 1 billionth download of Google Earth. Tony’s site “One World, Many Stories” was the official site used by Google to promote this event.
In 2012, Tony took a position as the Head of User Experience with Imgur in San Francisco, CA.
Cassie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts (Cum Laude) from Robert Morris University and began her career in the video industry as a production assistant at America’s Most Wanted (AMW). After AMW ended in the Spring of 2011, she became a part of the creative marketing team at Discovery Channel. She produced marketing content, including promos, digital, print, and 3D experiences for 360 campaigns like Discovery’s Shark Week, American Chopper, Cash Cab, Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, The Vanishing Women, and the Emmy Award Winning A Crime to Remember.
Cassie then took her video experience into the live events industry. She managed the creative content for events as large as 18,000 attendees and worked with clients like Under Armour and Oprah Winfrey.
Currently, Cassie is the Executive Producer and Partner at Squad 47 Films based in the DC Metro Area. Squad is a high-profile production company advertising for brands such as Dunkin Donuts, Facebook, AT&T, QUIP, Macy’s, and Sirius XM in pre-production, production, and post-production.
Application Developer Lead
Andre attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and began his career in digital media with a company in Pittsburgh called Kashi Kicks. His path in interactive media has allowed him to work in many different industries including: corporate travel, digital media shops, advertising and education. While working for Brunner, one of Pittsburgh’s largest advertising firms, Andre completed projects for high-profile brands such as Bob Evans, Tums, Cub Cadet and Huffy. Andre currently works as the lead Flash Engineer for Think Through Math, where he works to develop math remediation tools used by hundreds of thousands of students nationwide.
Consumer Design Lead
Lauren finished her degree in Digital Design at the University of Cincinnati. While at UC, she has earned internships with companies in Los Angeles and New York City. You can see a sample of some of the projects on Vimeo.
After graduating from the DAAP program at UC, Lauren co-founded a new business called Rootless, a ridesharing network on the East Coast.
She’s since joined a branding company in San Francisco called Cibo as a designer. Cibo has worked with such brands as Disney, Tesla, Cisco & Dolby.
After Cibo, Lauren joined Postmates as the Consumer Design lead and is now leading the Consumer Design Team at Uber Eats where they are helping people all over the world to discover and order the things they love from their local communities.
Anthony attended Central State University and began his career in the information technology industry as an intern with The Advanced Virtual Engine Test Cell, Inc. (AVETEC) a not-for-profit public benefit research organization. He also completed a biomedical research program in which he developed MOTION, a software program for automating human gait (walking pattern) data. Anthony currently works as a Software Engineer for Segue Technologies where he develops custom web, mobile, and enterprise systems for the U.S. government and various commercial organizations.
In January of 2013 Anthony completed his Master’s degree in Information Systems, setting the ground for his own multimedia startup company.
Alex attended The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. He received his BSBA from OSU with a specialization in Logistics Management. Alex is a great example of a student who went on to accomplish big things in other arenas. He began his college career officially as a sophomore because of the 35 college credits he earned while in the Multimedia program.
He drew on some of his Multimedia experiences during the interview process that led to him obtaining an internship with General Mills, Pacer International, and IGS Energy.
Currently, he is employed in a rotational program as a Logistics Management Associate with General Mills in their Milwaukee, Wisconsin plant.
Web Operations/Development Manager
Chris graduated from Ohio University in 2013, with a bachelors degree in Visual Communications and a minor in Music. While at Ohio, he worked with the university’s Advancement and Alumni departments to implement and execute the digital aspects of a 240-million-dollar fundraising effort, The Promise Lives Campaign.
In the fall of 2013, Chris joined the Rocky Brands team in Nelsonville, Ohio working as a Front-End Developer. In 2021, the company doubled in size, moving Chris into management, over the web development and operations branch of the business.
Meghan graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Graphic Communication Design Degree (Go Bearcats!). While at UC, she interned with companies across the country including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital & Southwest Airlines.
After graduating from the DAAP program at UC, Meghan moved to Denver, Colorado where she began working at an agency for a few years. In May of 2017, Meghan ventured out on her own and opened Adventure Toward Creative where she helped small business owners manage all of the design & marketing aspects of their ever growing companies.
Currently, Meghan is a digital product manager and is helping business create strategy around their digital marketing. She works with them to establish what they need and how to implement it!
Software QA Analyst
Logan graduated from Otterbein University in 2019 as a four year varsity lacrosse letterman with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Psychology.
After graduating, Logan started working in Columbus for CBC Innovis as a Software Analyst. In his first two years with the company, Logan worked on testing a backend application as the code was being converted from C to Java. The project was completed in 2021 and he is now responsible for maintaining and optimizing a suite of tests for the converted application.
Ryan graduated from VisCom at Ohio University and started working in commercial visuals with photographers and businesses of Columbus. Later his roles as photography assistant, digital tech, and retoucher for creative studio OneKreate had him on projects with clients such as Express, The Limited, Under Armour, Resource Ammirati, and more.
After a move out west he joined the Bay Area (Oakland) and Apple where he’s currently part of the Retail Marketing Studio team.
Senior Account Manager
Erica graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Strategic Communication. While at OSU, she had a variety of internships (R&A Marketing, Directions for Youth and Families, ODW Logistics, Inc.) to find out exactly what she wanted to pursue. She was offered a position at ODW’s agency of record – Conrad Phillips & Vutech (located in Grandview). She now has been there for 4+ years and manages and leads the agency’s day-to-day relationships with key client contacts, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio Farm Bureau, Bailey Cavalieri and The New Albany Community Foundation.
She is also a HubSpot Inbound & Content Marketing specialist, traveling to Boston for Inbound conferences and serving as an advisory board member for the ColumbusHUG (HubSpot User Group).
Director of Corporate Partnerships
Sam Morgan is Director of Corporate Partnerships at Oak View Group & Climate Pledge Arena/Seatte Kraken.
Oak View Group (OVG) is the largest sport and entertainment Arena developer in the world with over 4.5 Billion currently invested in new construction. Sam joined OVG in early 2020 but is no stranger to the world of professional sports, starting his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before joining the Columbus Blue Jackets holding various positions from game day marketing, to premium hospitality and partnership development.
Sam credits the Multimedia program for giving him the creative skills to break into the highly competitive sports industry. Although, these skills are not directly associated with his current role, Sam continues to find value in his Multimedia experience having been involved in communicating the vision behind the NHL’s recent expansion team and brand, the Seattle Kraken.
Bryce graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Industrial Design in 2021. While there, he interned at several companies, ranging from event and experience design in San Francisco to consumer packaged goods in Cincinnati.
Starting in school and as a part of his senior capstone project (https://www.behance.net/gallery/117873691/illume-SOS-Device-for-Athletes), he lead the design for a startup with a multi-disciplinary team of UC students. Still under development, they hope to launch a portable SOS device tailored to athletes (zozasafe.com).
After school, he joined EPAM (https://www.epam.com/services/consult-and-design), working on their innovation consulting capabilities known as EPAM Continuum. As an Envisioner, he helps conduct user research to guide business, service, and product strategies, as well as creating the visuals to best communicate future user experiences.
Trevor graduated from Ohio State University in 2016 with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
He began his career as a Software Engineer at Citrix where he helped develop a platform for managing and deploying Citrix virtualization software to the cloud. During this time he filed and was granted two patents from the US Patent Office for features where he led design and implementation.
After this he joined Ad Hoc, a digital services company focused on government projects such as the VA and Medicare websites. Currently Trevor now works as an engineer at Amazon Games. He assisted in bringing Amazon’s MMO, New World, to market by helping build out features related to micro-transactions, moderation, marketing, and internal tools. He is now busy working on features to support Amazon Game’s next release, Lost Ark.
